Pedro Teixeira
Pedro Teixeira was born in 1988 in Mirandela.
Since an early age, he has been the principal oboe soloist of the ESPROARTE orchestra. Having recorded discs with the ESPROARTE orchestra, the ESMAE Orchestra, and the Orquestra do Norte gave him tremendous valuable experience as a young oboe and English horn soloist.
Throughout his life, Mr. Teixeira participated in several improvement courses and masterclasses with the teachers: Pedro Ribeiro, Nelson Alves, Ricardo Lopes, Andreas Wittmann, Luís Vieira, Christian Cocchiraro, Saul Silva, and Diethelm Jonas (having been invited to study in Lübeck, Germany).
Mr. Teixeira is proud that he was a member of the World Youth Orchestra from 2009 to 2012, having gained worldwide professional experience through touring with this orchestra.
He currently teaches oboe and orchestra at Esproarte (Professional Art School of Mirandela), Academia Valentim Moreira de Sá Guimarães, Bonfim Conservatory of Braga, and EPMVC (Professional School of Music of Viana do Castelo)
He is an oboist with the Orquestra de Guimarães, a Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra (ex Euro-Atlâtica). He has also been a member of the Orquestra do Norte 2009/2010, having won the auditions in Portugal, England, and Italy.
In 2018 founded the Indigo Quintet, a group exploring world music, jazz, and other music styles, bringing oboe, English horn, duduk, and other instruments to the improvisational music scene.
Mr. Teixeira taught masters classes at Esproarte, Vizela Music Academy and Carlos Gomes Conservatory in Belém (Brazil). In 2017 he joined the TOY Ensemble (Jed Barahal, Cheistina Margotto, Fernando Lapa, Alexandre Delgado, Raquel Queirós and David Loyd) with whom he performed concerts and recitals in Belém (Brazil) and Portugal with recordings for the Portuguese classical radio "antenna 2".
