By accessing or using this website or booking any services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you disagree with any portion of these terms, you may not access the website or use the services.

2. Services & User Accounts

​

MusicTutorOnline provides private, live 1-on-1 online music instruction, score analysis, piano performance, music theory, and academic examination preparation (IBDP, IGCSE, A-Level, ABRSM (Piano and Music Theory), Trinity (Piano and Music Theory)).

​

• No Customer Login Portal: The website currently does not feature or require a customer login, account creation, or user portal. All scheduling, electronic invoicing, lesson links, and student communications are managed directly via secure email and official studio channels.

• No Public Community Features: Public profile creation, community forums, and social app posting features are disabled.

3. Commercial Terms, Fees & Payment Security

​

When purchasing a single lesson or lesson package from MusicTutorOnline, you agree that:

​

1. You are responsible for reading full service descriptions before making a purchasing commitment.

2. You enter into a legally binding contract once payment processing is completed.

3. All payments are processed securely through PCI DSS-compliant payment gateways with 256-bit SSL encryption.

Prices displayed on the website are subject to change. MusicTutorOnline reserves the right to correct pricing errors or modify fees prior to contract confirmation.

​

4. Cancellation & Refund Policy

​

All cancellation notices must be submitted in writing via email to info@musictutoronline.com.

​

A. Single 60-Minute Sessions (€45)

​

• 24+ Hours' Notice: Cancellations made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson start time are eligible for a full refund, minus a €5 administration fee.

• Less than 24 Hours' Notice: Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson start time are non-refundable.

​

B. Lesson Packages (PRO, Super PRO, VIP)

​

• 24+ Hours' Notice Before First Lesson: Package cancellations requested at least 24 hours prior to the first scheduled session will receive a refund minus a 3% payment processor fee and a €15 administration fee.

• Less than 24 Hours' Notice Before First Lesson: Package cancellations requested within 24 hours of the first session will receive a refund minus the price of one single lesson (€45), a 3% payment processor fee, and a €15 administration fee.

• After Lessons Have Commenced: Lesson packages cannot be refunded once the first session has taken place. Exceptions are considered strictly in cases of serious illness or family bereavement, subject to official verification.

Under no circumstances are refunds provided for lessons that have already taken place.

5. Rescheduling Policy & Package Expiration

​

All rescheduling requests must be submitted via email to info@musictutoronline.com at least 24 hours in advance.

• Package Validity Windows:

  • Single Sessions: Valid for 1 month from purchase.

  • PRO Package (5 Lessons): Valid for 2 months from purchase.

  • Super PRO Package (10 Lessons): Valid for 4 months from purchase.

  • VIP Package (20 Lessons): Valid for 8 months from purchase.

• Rescheduling Limit: Sessions may be rescheduled subject to studio availability within the original package validity window.

• Late Rescheduling / Missed Lessons: Requests submitted less than 24 hours prior to a session cannot be rescheduled and will be forfeited.

• Studio Closure Allowance: Official MusicTutorOnline holiday closures (such as Christmas and New Year breaks) are automatically added to package validity periods so students lose zero usable time.

6. Studio Cancellations & Technical Disruptions

​

• Cancellations by MusicTutorOnline: If MusicTutorOnline must cancel a session, 24 hours' notice will be given whenever possible, and the session will be rescheduled at a mutually agreeable time. If no time can be arranged, the full session fee will be refunded without administrative charges.

• Tutor Late Arrival: Any time lost due to late arrival by the tutor will be compensated in full by extending the lesson or adding time to a future session.

7. Late Arrivals & No-Show Policy

​

• Student Late Arrival: Lessons begin and end strictly at scheduled times. No time adjustments or fee extensions will be made for student late arrival.

• 15-Minute No-Show Rule: The tutor will remain in the online lesson room for 15 minutes. If the student does not join within 15 minutes of the start time, the session is logged as a student "no-show," forfeited, and rendered non-refundable.

8. Student & Parent Obligations

​

• Student Expectations: Students agree to arrive on time, prepare assigned exercises/scores, and set up their camera, audio, and materials prior to the scheduled lesson start time.

• Parent/Guardian Expectations: Parents or guardians of minor students assume full responsibility for student conduct, punctual login, and ensuring a quiet learning environment.

9. EU Right of Withdrawal (Distance Selling Law)

​

In accordance with EU Consumer Rights legislation (Directive 2011/83/EU), consumers residing within the European Union have the right to withdraw from a distance purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. However, if you request to schedule and commence your live 1-on-1 lesson or lesson package within this 14-day period, you expressly agree that service performance begins immediately and acknowledge that you waive your statutory right of withdrawal once the session or package has commenced, in accordance with the Cancellation & Refund Policy set forth herein.

10. Technical Requirements & Student Equipment Responsibility

​

The student is solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining all necessary hardware, software, camera/audio equipment, and high-speed internet access required to attend live online sessions. MusicTutorOnline is not responsible for lesson time lost, degraded audio/video quality, or missed sessions resulting from technical failures, hardware glitches, or internet instability on the student’s end. Such lost time is non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.

11. Prohibition of Audio & Video Recording

​

To protect intellectual property, proprietary pedagogical methods, and personal privacy, unauthorized recording, screen-capturing, downloading, or broadcasting of live 1-on-1 lessons or digital teaching materials by the student, parent, or third parties is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from the owner of MusicTutorOnline, Robert Boer.

12. Minor Student Supervision & Safety

​

For students under 18 years of age, enrollment must be executed by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian agrees to supervise the minor student's online environment, ensure punctual attendance, and remain reachable via email or telephone during scheduled lesson times.

13. Intellectual Property & Copyright

​

All materials provided on this website and during private sessions—including course frameworks, annotated PDF scores, written exercises, branding, logos, and audio-visual media—are the exclusive intellectual property of MusicTutorOnline and Robert Boer. Unapproved copying, redistribution, public performance, or commercial dissemination is strictly prohibited.

14. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification

​

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MusicTutorOnline and Robert Boer shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, software incompatibility, or personal connection interruptions arising from the use of our website or online tutoring services. You agree to indemnify and hold MusicTutorOnline harmless from claims or third-party expenses resulting from your misuse of the site or violation of these Terms.

15. Promotional Communications

​

By submitting an inquiry or enrolling in lessons, you consent to receive direct email communications regarding lesson scheduling, studio updates, and educational materials. You may opt out of promotional communications at any time by emailing info@musictutoronline.com.

16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

​

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed solely in accordance with the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be submitted exclusively to the competent court in The Hague, The Netherlands.
