Jaume Darbra Fa
Jaume was born in a small village in Catalonia and grew up in the countryside.
After high school, he moved to Barcelona for music, the idea won over his plans to study Psychology. A few years later, he was immersed in the rich world of Karnatic Rhythms and Live Electronics which complemented his studies of Classical and Contemporary Performances around Europe.

Jaume Darbra is a multidisciplinary and independent artist based between Cologne and Múrcia.
​
As a freelance flutist, Jaume is internationally active in the field of contemporary music and visual arts. Engagements have taken him all over Europe, America, and Asia, performing in the most important venues, festivals, and institutions such as WienModern, November
Music, Snape Maltings, IRCAM, STEIM, Musikfest Berlin, Festival Manifeste, ZKM, Lucerne Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Daegu International Contemporary Music Festival and has collaborated with Patricia Kopatchinskaja,
Marina Abramovic, Cirque du Soleil, Romain Bischoff, B.C.
Manjunath, Robert Henke, to mention a few.
Besides collaborating with renewed orchestras such as Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse, Orchestre des Pays de Savoie, Barcelona Philarmonic Orchestra, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, and Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, he is dedicated to contemporary music. He has premiered works from composers of his generation and renewed composers such as Simon Steen Andersen, Rebecca Saunders, Unsuk Chin, Enno Poppe, and Alexander Schubert. Lastly, Jaume has worked with several contemporary music ensembles, such as Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Recherche, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Musikfabrik, and Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra, among others.
